Section 1

This Instrument may be cited as “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A57(M)) (Chester Road Roundabout) Motorway Scheme 1995 Confirmation Instrument 1996” and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

Section 2

The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A57(M)) (Chester Road Roundabout) Motorway Scheme 1995 (“the Scheme”) is hereby confirmed with modifications.

Section 3

The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan as modified are deposited at the offices of the Council of The City of Manchester at the Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester M60 2LA.

Section 1

The Council are authorised to provide along the route described in Schedule 1 to this Scheme a special road for the use of traffic of classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 as amended.

Section 2

The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

Section 3

In this Scheme:—

“the Council” means the Council of the City of Manchester

“the deposited plan” means the plan numbered G4/143/251 marked “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A57(M)) (Chester Road Roundabout) Motorway Scheme 1995” sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council at the Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA. A certified copy is also deposited with the Secretary of State for Transport.

“the special road” means the special road mentioned in Article 1 of this Scheme.

Section 4

This Scheme may be cited as “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A57(M)) (Chester Road Roundabout) Motorway Scheme 1995”.
