Section 1 Title, commencement and extent

(1) This Scheme may be cited as the Farm and Conservation Grant (Variation) Scheme 1996 and shall come into force on 19th February 1996.

(2) This Scheme shall apply to England and Wales.

Section 2 Variation of the principal Scheme

The Farm and Conservation Grant Scheme 1989 shall be further varied in accordance with paragraphs 3 and 4 below.

Section 3 Variation of the principal Scheme

In paragraph 7(1) (closing dates for claims and incurring certain expenditure), after the words “subject to”, there shall be inserted the words “paragraphs (1A) and”.

Section 4 Variation of the principal Scheme

After paragraph 7(1) there shall be inserted the following sub-paragraphs:—

(1A) Subject to paragraphs (1B) and (2) below, the appropriate Minister shall not, in relation to an agricultural business in Wales, pay any grant under this Scheme unless the claim for grant is received by him on or before 18th February 1998.

(1B) Sub-paragraph (1A) above shall not apply to a claim for grant made in relation to any work, facility or transaction of a kind specified in paragraph 1(b) or (c) in column 1 of Schedule 1.
