Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 1995 (Commencement No. 8) Order 1996.

(2) In this Order references to sections and Schedules are references to sections of, and Schedules to, the Pensions Act 1995.

Section 2 Appointed days

The day appointed for the coming into force of sections 118 and 125(2) to (4) in so far as they are not already in force is 16th October 1996.

Section 3 Appointed days

For the purposes of making regulations the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions is 16th October 1996—

(a) section 3(2),

(b) section 74(1) and (5)(a),

(c) section 165,

(d) Schedule 3, paragraphs 23 and 44(a)(ii) and section 122 in so far as it relates to those paragraphs, and

(e) Schedule 5, paragraph 80(f) and section 151 in so far as it relates to that paragraph.

Section 4 Appointed days

For the purposes of making rules the day appointed for the coming into force of section 158 is 16th October 1996.
