Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Channel 3 Transmission and Shared Distribution Costs) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 27th December 1996.

Section 2

The period specified in the Broadcasting (Channel 3 Transmission and Shared Distribution Costs) Order 1991 during which—

(a) all Channel 3 services are required to be broadcast for general reception by a single person under arrangements made with him by the persons licensed to provide those services; and

(b) all persons licensed to provide Channel 3 services are required to share the costs incurred in respect of the distribution of those services (taken as a whole) in such manner as may be approved by her,

shall be extended by a period of six years so as to end on 31st December 2002.
