Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 (Amendment of Section 23) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st January 1997.

Section 2 Amendment of section 23(2)(a) of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993

Section 23(2)(a) of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 (distributing bodies for sums allocated for expenditure on or connected with sport) shall be amended by substituting “the English Sports Council” for “the Sports Council”.

Section 3 Sums held in the National Lottery Distribution Fund

Sums that apart from this Order would be held in the Distribution Fund for distribution by the Sports Council shall be held in the Distribution Fund for distribution by the English Sports Council.
