Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Nursery Education and Grant-Maintained Schools Act 1996 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1996.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Nursery Education and Grant-Maintained Schools Act 1996.

Section 2 Commencement of provisions

Section 5 of the Act shall come into force, so far as not in force, on the relevant dates relating to the provisions of Schedule 1 brought into force by this Order.

Section 3 Commencement of provisions

Paragraph 6(1)(a) of Schedule 1 to the Act shall come into force on 10th December 1996 for the purpose of empowering the making of regulations under that provision and on 1st January 1997 for all other purposes.

Section 4 Commencement of provisions

Paragraph 6(5) of Schedule 1 to the Act shall come into force on 10th December 1996.

Section 5 Commencement of provisions

The following paragraphs of Schedule 1 to the Act shall come into force on 1st January 1997:

6(2) and (3) insofar as it is not in force,

8(2) insofar as it is not in force,

Section 6 Commencement of provisions

Paragraph 14 (insofar as it is not in force) shall come into force on 1st April 1997.
