Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Changes for England (Finance) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st April 1996.

Section 2 Amendment of Finance Regulations

In regulation 54A of the Local Government Changes for England (Finance) Regulations 1994 (subsidy, contributions and financial assistance) —

(a) for paragraph (2)(a) substitute—

(a) section 63 of the Rent Act 1977 (rent officer schemes) ;

(ab) section 429 of the Housing Act 1985 (the improvement for sale scheme)

(b) at the end add—

(4) In this regulation “designated authority” includes an authority designated by a scheme made under section 63 of the Rent Act 1977 where the scheme takes effect on the reorganisation date.
