Section 1

This Instrument may be cited as “the Leeds City Council (Leeds Inner Ring Road Stages 6 & 7 (A61) to M1 Motorway (Junction 46) Connecting Road) Scheme 1994 Confirmation Instrument 1996” and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

Section 2

The Leeds City Council (Leeds Inner Ring Road Stages 6 & 7 (A61) to M1 Motorway (Junction 46) Connecting Road) Scheme 1994 Confirmation Instrument 1996 (“the Scheme”) is hereby confirmed with modifications.

Section 3

The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport and at the offices of the Leeds City Council, Legal Services, Room 213, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR and at the offices of the City Engineer, 2nd Floor, Dudley House, 133 Albion Street, Leeds LS2 8JX.

Section 1

The Council are authorised to provide for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980, a special road along the route described in the Schedule to this Scheme for the purpose of connecting the classified road with the M1 Motorway at the place stated in the Schedule to this Scheme.

Section 2

The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

Section 3

In this Scheme:—

(a) All distances are measured along the centre line of the relevant highway;

(b)

(i) “the Council” means the Leeds City Council;

(ii) “the M1 Motorway” means the London to Leeds Motorway (M1);

(iii) “the special road” means the special road which the Council is authorised by this Scheme to provide;

(iv) “the classified road” means a highway which the Council propose to construct from the Hunslet Distributor, at a point 51 metres south—west of its junction with the un—named link to Hillidge Road (measured along the southern boundary of the Hunslet Distributor), to Moor Road, at a point 115 metres south—east of its junction with the Hunslet Distributor (measured along the eastern boundary of Moor Road); and moor Road which the Council propose to improve from a point 115 metres south—east of its junction with the Hunslet Distributor (measured along the eastern boundary of Moor Road) to a point 139 metres south—east of its junction with the Hunslet Distributor.

(v) “the deposited plan” means the plan marked “The Leeds City Council (Leeds Inner Ring Road Stages 6 & 7 (A61) to M1 Motorway (Junction 46) Connecting Road) Scheme 1994”, sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council, Director of Legal services, Room 213, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR. A certified copy is also deposited at the Department of Transport, GO—NE Local Authority Orders, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4TD and “deposited plan” shall be construed accordingly.

Section 4

This Scheme may be cited as “The Leeds City Council (Leeds Inner Ring Road Stages 6 & 7 (A61) to M1 Motorway (Junction 46) Connecting Road) Scheme 1994”.
