Section 1
This Order may be cited as the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 9th May 1997.

Section 2
In this Order—
(i) “the new trunk road” means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2 of the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) Order 1997 ; and
(ii) “the trunk road” means the A46 Trunk Road.
Section 3
The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Nottinghamshire County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic.
