Section 1Citation

This Order may be cited as the Building Societies Act 1997 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1997.

Section 2Coming into force of provisions

The following provisions of the Building Societies Act 1997 shall come into force on 21st May 1997, namely, paragraph 1 of Schedule 8 and section 46 so far as it relates to that paragraph.
