Section 1Citation and interpretation
(1) This Order may be cited as the Medical (Professional Performance) Act 1995 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1997.
(2) In this Order, “ the Act ” means the Medical (Professional Performance) Act 1995.

Section 2Appointed Day
1st July 1997 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the whole of the Act so far as it is not already in force, except section 2 (voluntary removal from the register) and, in the Schedule (supplementary and consequential amendments to the Medical Act 1983 ), paragraph 3 (which amends section 32 of that Act), and sections 4 (which introduces the Schedule) and 7(2) (extent) so far as they relate to those provisions.
