The Local Government Act 1988 (Competition) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1997

Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Competition) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 30th June 1997.

(2) In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations ” means the Local Government Act 1988 (Competition) (Scotland) Regulations 1997 .

Section 2 Amendment of principal Regulations

In regulation 4 of the principal Regulations–

(a) in paragraph (1), for “1999” there shall be substituted “2000”; and

(b) in paragraph (2), for “1998” there shall be substituted “1999”.

Section 3 Amendment of principal Regulations

Regulation 5 of the principal Regulations shall be deleted.

Section 4 Amendment of principal Regulations

In regulation 6 of the principal Regulations–

(a) in paragraph (1), for “1st October 1999” there shall be substituted “1st April 2000”;

(b) in paragraph (2), for “1st October 1998 to 31st March 1999” there shall be substituted “1st April 1999 to 30th September 1999”; and

(c) in paragraph (3), for “1st April 1999 to 30th September 1999” there shall be substituted “1st October 1999 to 31st March 2000”.

Section 5 Amendment of principal Regulations

In column 2 of Schedule 6 to the principal Regulations–

(a) for “1997” wherever it appears, there shall be substituted “1998”; and

(b) for “1998” wherever it appears, there shall be substituted “1999”.
