Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Contracting Out (Functions in relation to the provision of Guardians Ad Litem and Reporting Officers Panels) Order 1997.

(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Section 2 Contracting out of functions in relation to the provision of panels of guardians ad litem and reporting officers

Any function of a local authority which is conferred by Regulations made under section 41(7) and (9) of the Children Act 1989 or section 65A(1) and (2) of the Adoption Act 1976 may be exercised by, or by employees of, such person (if any) as may be authorised in that behalf by that local authority.

Section 3 Revocation of the Contracting Out (Functions in relation to the provision of Guardians Ad Litem and Reporting Officers Panels) Order 1996

The Contracting Out (Functions in relation to the provision of Guardians Ad Litem and Reporting Officers Panels) Order 1996 is hereby revoked.
