Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Firearms (Museums) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 28th July 1997.

Section 2

A museum or similar institution of the following description is hereby specified for the purposes of paragraph 5 (2) of the Schedule to the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988, that is to say a museum or similar institution which is for the time being fully registered with the Museums and Galleries Commission .
