Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Electronic Fingerprinting etc. Device Approval (Scotland) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 8th August 1997.

Section 2Device approved

For the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (record of a person’s skin on an external part of the body), the device known as the Digital Biometrics Incorporation (DBI) Tenprinter 1133S, with palmprint option, is hereby approved.
