Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Changes for England (Lord-Lieutenants and Sheriffs) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

Section 2Lord-Lieutenants

In the Lieutenancies Act 1997 , in paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 (counties in England for the purposes of the Act), the following entries shall be inserted at the appropriate place in the Table in alphabetical order—

(1) In the Sheriffs Act 1887 , in Schedule 2A (counties in England for the purposes of the Act), the following entries shall be inserted at the appropriate place in the Table in alphabetical order—
