Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 1995 (Commencement No. 9) Order 1997.

(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Pensions Act 1995.

Section 2 Appointed days

(1) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 80(4) of the Act (review of decisions of the Pensions Compensation Board), paragraph 12 of Schedule 2 to the Act and section 78(8) of the Act insofar as it relates to that paragraph (proceedings of the Pensions Compensation Board)—

(a) for the purpose only of authorising the making of regulations, is 4th February 1997, and

(b) for all other purposes, is 6th April 1997.

(2) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 55 of the Act (end of annual increase in GMP) is 4th February 1997.
