Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Prescription as “Persons in Need” (Persons subject to Immigration Control) (Scotland) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 30th September 1997.

Section 2Interpretation
In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires–
“ the Act ” means the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968; and
“the 1996 Act ” means the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 .
Section 3Prescription of persons subject to immigration control as “persons in need” for the purposes of the Act
Persons subject to immigration control within the meaning of section 13(2) of the 1996 Act are prescribed as “persons in need” for the purposes of the 1968 Act.
