Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1997.

Section 2 Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 36 of the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997 (expenditure of Health Authorities) is 14th October 1997.

Section 3 Saving

Notwithstanding article 2, in relation to—

(a) expenditure of Health Authorities in respect of a financial year ending on 31st March 1998 or before; and

(b) amounts allotted to Health Authorities in respect of such a financial year,

section 97 of the National Health Service Act 1977 shall continue to have effect as if this Order had not been made.
