Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Chichester District Council and Mole Valley District Council) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 12th November 1997.

Section 2Exemption of sports and leisure management
(1) The management of sports and leisure facilities by the council of the district of Chichester shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken at the Westgate Centre, Chichester during the period beginning with 1st January 1998 and ending on 31st March 1999.
(2) The management of sports and leisure facilities by the council of the district of Mole Valley shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken at the Dorking Swimming Centre, Dorking during the period beginning with 1st July 1998 and ending on 31st December 1999.
