Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 12th December 1997.

Section 2Amendment of the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Housing Management) (Exemptions) (Wales) Order 1997
In article 3 of the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Housing Management) (Exemptions) (Wales) Order 1997 , for the reference to “2500” there shall be substituted a reference to “4000”.
Section 3Amendment of the Local Government Act 1988 (Security Work) (Exemption) (Wales) Order 1997
In article 2(1)(b) of the Local Government Act 1988 (Security Work) (Exemption) (Wales) Order 1997 for the reference to 80 per cent there shall be substituted a reference to 51 per cent.
