Section 1 Title and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Coypus (Special Licence) (Fees) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 1st January 1998.

Section 2 Interpretation

In these Regulations—

(a) “ the Act ” means the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932; and

(b) “a special licence” means a special licence granted in accordance with section 8 of the Act authorising the keeping of coypus.

Section 3 Special licence fees

On the granting of a special licence there shall be paid to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland or the Secretary of State for Wales, as the case may be, the following fee—

(a) in England and Wales, £185; and

(b) in Scotland, £60.
