Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Contracts) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1997.

Section 2 Commencement

(1) Sections 3(2)(e) and (f) and 3(3) of the Local Government (Contracts) Act 1997, in so far as they confer power on the Secretary of State to make regulations, shall come into force in England and Wales on 1st December 1997.

(2) Sections 2 and 4 to 9 of that Act, and section 3 of that Act except in so far as it is brought into force by paragraph (1), shall come into force in England and Wales on 30th December 1997.
