This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Stevenage Borough Council and Three Rivers District Council) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st January 1998.

The Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Stevenage Borough Council and Three Rivers District Council) Order 1997
The management of sports and leisure facilities shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out by Stevenage Borough Council during the period beginning with 1st January 1998 and ending with 31st May 1999 at the following premises—
(i) Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, Lytton Way;
(ii) Stevenage Swimming Pool, St. George Way;
(iii) John Henry Newman Leisure Centre, Hitchin Road.
The management of sports and leisure facilities shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out by Three Rivers District Council during the period beginning with 1st June 1998 and ending with 31st May 2000 at Sir James Altham Swimming Pool, Little Oxhey Lane, South Oxhey.
