Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Bath and North East Somerset District Council) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

Section 2Exemption of housing management
The housing management work of the council of the district of Bath and North East Somerset shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken during the period beginning with 1 April 1998 and ending on 31 August 1999.
