Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

(2) In this Order a reference to a numbered column is to the column in the Schedule to this Order bearing that number.

Section 2 Fees payable

In each enactment specified in column (2) in relation to which there is an entry in column (5), for the sum specified in column (5) there is substituted the sum specified in relation to it in column (4); and the fee payable in England and Wales under each of the enactments specified in column (2) in respect of a matter or case specified in column (3) is that specified in relation to that matter or case in column (4).

Section 3 Revocation of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order 1996

The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order 1996 (under which the fees payable were as respectively set out in column (5) of the Schedule to this Order) is hereby revoked.
