Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Rent Assessment Committees (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 15th January 1998.

Section 2 Amendments

The Rent Assessment Committees (England and Wales) Regulations 1971 shall be amended by substituting for regulation 2A from the start to the end of paragraph (1):

(1) This regulation applies where a reference is made under:

paragraph 5 of Schedule 5 to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 as applied by paragraph 19 of Schedule 10 to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 ;

section 6, 13, 14A or 22 of the Housing Act 1988 ; or

paragraph 6(2) or 10(2) of Schedule 10 to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
