Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 21st March 1997.

Section 2 Exemption of sports and leisure facilities management

The management of sports and leisure facilities by the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is undertaken before 31st December 1998 at the following sites

in the borough—

the Angel Leisure Centre, Angel Lane, Tonbridge;

the Tonbridge (Racecourse) Sportsground, New Wharf Road, Tonbridge;

the Tonbridge Farm Sportsground, Darenth Avenue, Tonbridge;

the Swanmead Sportsground, Swanmead Way, Tonbridge; and

the Games Hut Operation, Tonbridge Racecourse, New Wharf Road, Tonbridge.
