The Returning Officers (Parliamentary Constituencies) (England) (Amendment) Order 1997

Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Returning Officers (Parliamentary Constituencies) (England) (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

(2) In this Order, “the 1995 Order ” means the Returning Officers (Parliamentary Constituencies) (England) Order 1995 .

Section 2

In Schedule 1 to the 1995 Order (returning officers for certain borough constituencies outside Greater London), in the entry in the right-hand column opposite the name of the Brighton, Kemptown constituency, for “Brighton” there shall be substituted “Brighton and Hove”.

Section 3

In Schedule 2A to the 1995 Order (returning officers for certain county constituencies) , after the entry for the Brigg and Goole constituency there shall be inserted in the left-hand column (name of county constituency) “Rutland and Melton” and opposite thereto in the right-hand column (county of which sheriff is returning officer) “Leicestershire”.
