Section 1Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 6th April 1997.

Section 2Amendment of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979

In regulation 7 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 (lower and upper earnings limits for Class 1 contributions) —
(a) for “6th April 1996”, substitute “6th April 1997”; and
(b) for “£61” and “£455”, substitute “£62” and “£465” respectively.
