Section 1Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Benefit (General) Amendment Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 7th April 1997.

Section 2Amendment of regulation 51 of the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987

In regulation 51(2)(a) of the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987 (eligible rent of students), after the words “income support” there shall be inserted the words “or an income-based jobseeker’s allowance”.
