Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Housing Act 1996 (Commencement No.6 and Savings) Order 1997.

(2) In this Order “the commencement date” means 12th February 1997.

Section 2 Commencement and Savings

The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on the commencement date, subject to the savings in the Schedule to this Order—

sections 124 to 128,

section 129(1), (2), (5) and (6),

sections 130 to 134,

sections 136 and 137,

section 138(1) to (3),

section 141(1),

sections 144 to 146, and

section 147 to the extent that it is not already in force.
