This Order may be cited as the Local Government Changes for England (Education) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

The Local Government Changes for England (Education) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1997
(1) The functions of the Council of the County of Hampshire referred to in paragraph (2) below shall on and after 1st April 1997 be discharged by the Southampton City Council .
(2) The functions referred to in paragraph (1) are functions of the Council of the County of Hampshire in respect of the following schools—
Kanes Hill County Primary School;
Netley Court Special School;
Townhill County Infants School; and
Townhill County Junior School;
including any functions of the local education authority under the articles of government for any of these schools.
The functions of the Council of the County of Staffordshire in respect of Aynsley Special School (including any functions of the local education authority under the articles of government for that school) shall on and after 1st April 1997 be discharged by Stoke-on-Trent City Council .
St George’s Roman Catholic Grant-maintained School shall be treated for all purposes connected with education as if it were wholly within the area of the City of Southampton.
