Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Amendment of Regulations for Compensation on Reorganisation) (Scotland) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 31st March 1997.

(2) In these Regulations the “ principal Regulations ” means each of the following:–

(a) The Local Government (Compensation for Redundancy or Premature Retirement on Reorganisation) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 ;

(b) The Local Government (Education Administration) (Compensation for Redundancy or Premature Retirement on Reorganisation) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 ; and

(c) The Local Government (Compensation for Reduction of Remuneration on Reorganisation) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 .

Section 2 Amendment of principal Regulations

In regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations in the definition of “prescribed period” for “31st March 1997” there shall be substituted “30th June 1997”.
