These Regulations may be cited as the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st June 1998.

The Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) (Amendment) Regulations 1998
The Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986 are amended as follows—
(a) in Part I of Schedule 2—
(i) in column 1 of item 2, by inserting “cashgora,” after “guanaco,”;
(ii) in column 2 of item 2, by inserting after “guanaco,” the words “cashgora goat (a cross between the kashmir goat and the angora goat),”;
(iii) in column 2 of item 20, by deleting the fibre description and substituting the following—
a regenerated cellulose fibre obtained by a modified viscose process having a high breaking force and high wet modulus. The breaking force (B c ) in the conditioned state and the force (B m ) required to produce an elongation of 5% in the wet state are:
B c (CN)≥1.3√T+2 T
B m (CN)≥0.5√T
where T is the mean linear density in decitex
(iv) in column 2 of item 28, by deleting the fibre description and substituting the following—
fibre formed from synthetic linear macromolecules having in the chain recurring amide linkages of which at least 85% are joined to aliphatic or cycloaliphatic units
(v) after item 28, by adding the following new items—
(b) in Schedule 3, after item 28, by adding the following new items—
