Section 1
These Rules may be cited as the Secure Training Centres (Escorts) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into force on 15th June 1998.

The Secure Training Centres (Escorts) (Amendment) Rules 1998
Section 2
In rule 2 of the Secure Training Centres (Escorts) Rules 1998 , for paragraphs (4) and (5) there shall be substituted the following:
(4) An offender shall not be searched by an officer of the opposite sex.
(5) At least one other person (being another officer or a constable) shall be present when an officer is searching an offender.
(6) An offender shall not be stripped and searched in the sight or presence of any person other than the officer conducting the search and any other officer or constable present by virtue of paragraph (5) above.
(7) An offender shall not be stripped and searched in the sight or presence of any person of the opposite sex.
