Section 1Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (London Fire and Civil Defence Authority) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 22nd July 1998.

(2) In this Order, “the LFCDA ” means the London Fire and Civil Defence Authority.

Section 2Exemptions of construction and property services and of financial services

(1) The provision of construction and property services by the LFCDA shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out during the period beginning with 1st April 1999 and ending on 31st March 2000.

(2) The provision of financial services by the LFCDA shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out during the period beginning with 22nd July 1998 and ending on 31st March 2001.
