Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Dentists Act 1984 (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 17th July 1998.

Section 2Amendment of section 40 of the Dentists Act 1984
In section 40 of the Dentists Act 1984 (definition of business of dentistry), in subsection (2), after paragraph (a) insert—
(ab) by a person (other than one falling within paragraph (a) above) providing personal dental services under section 28C of the National Health Service Act 1977 or section 17C of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 , or
