This Order may be cited as the Geneva Conventions Act (First Protocol) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 28th July 1998.

Section 2Certification of declarations made on ratification of the First Protocol
It is hereby certified that when depositing the instrument of ratification of the First Protocol additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12th August 1949, that is to say the Protocol relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I) done on 10th June 1977, the reservations and declarations set out in the Schedule to this Order were made.
