Section 1 Citation, commencement, interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (Education Action Zones) (Modification) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 4th August 1998.

(2) In these Regulations “ the Act ” means the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Section 2 Modification of section 10 of the Act 2

Until the appointed day (as defined in section 20(7) of the Act) section 10(1) of the Act shall have effect with the modification that for “maintained schools” there shall be substituted “county, voluntary or maintained special schools or grant-maintained or grant-maintained special schools (within the meaning of the Education Act 1996 )”.
