These Regulations may be cited as the Gaming Machines (Maximum Prizes) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st October 1998.

The Gaming Machines (Maximum Prizes)Regulations 1998
For the purposes of section 31(5) of the Gaming Act 1968 (maximum prize in respect of any one game played by means of a machine to which Part III of that Act applies on licensed or registered premises) the prescribed amount shall be—
(a) in the case of a machine on premises in respect of which a club or miners' welfare institute is for the time being registered under Part II or Part III of that Act, £250;
(b) in the case of a machine on bingo club premises (as defined in section 20 of that Act), £500;
(c) in the case of a machine on any other premises in respect of which a licence under that Act is for the time being in force, £1,000.
