Section 1Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (East Lindsey and Suffolk District Councils) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 13th October 1998.

Section 2Exemptions of financial services
The provision of financial services shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out–
(1) by the council of the district of East Lindsey during the period beginning with 1st April 1999 and ending on 31st March 2000;
(2) by the council of the district of Suffolk Coastal during the period beginning with 1st April 1999 and ending on 31st March 2001.
