The A1400 Trunk Road (Redbridge) Red Route (Prohibited Turn) Traffic Order 1998

Section 1 Commencement and citation

This Order may be cited as The A1400 Trunk Road (Redbridge) Red Route (Prohibited Turn) Traffic Order 1998, and shall come into force on 23rd January 1998.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

(a) a reference to an article or a schedule followed by a number is a reference to the article of, or the schedule to, this Order so numbered;

(b) causing includes permitting;

(c) “Clayhall Avenue” means the road of that name in the London Borough of Redbridge.

Section 3 Prohibited Turn

Subject to the provisions of article 4 no person shall cause any vehicle on reaching A1400 Woodford Avenue from Clayhall Avenue to U-turn into Clayhall Avenue.

Section 4 Exemptions

The provisions specified in article 3 shall not apply in respect of—

(i) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purpose, or

(ii) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
