Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Welsh) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 20th November 1998.

(2) In this Order “the principal Order ” means the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Welsh) Order 1995 .

Section 2 Amendment of principal Order

The words “Subject to paragraph (2)” in article 5(1) of the principal Order, article 5(2) of the principal Order and Schedule 5 to that Order (which specifies ten non-Welsh-speaking schools to which article 5(1) of the principal Order does not apply) are omitted.
