Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Amendment Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 16th November 1998.

(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations ” means the Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 1996 .

Section 2 Amendment of the principal Regulations

(1) The principal Regulations shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this regulation.

(2) In regulation 1(2), after the definition of “Part II services” the following definition is inserted–

“primary care group” means a committee appointed under regulation 14(1) of these Regulations in accordance with the Secretary of State’s directions of 15th October 1998 .

(3) In regulation 14(3), after the words “advise the Authority” there are inserted the words “, a primary care group”.
