Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Advice and Assistance (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 4th January 1999.

Section 2Amendment to Legal Advice and Assistance Regulations 1989
In regulation 30(1) of the Legal Advice and Assistance Regulations 1989 , after “criminal proceedings in a magistrates' court”, there shall be inserted “other than those referred to in regulation 3(1)(b) of the Costs Regulations ”.
