Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998 and shall come into force on 11th December 1998.

Section 2 Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

For article 3 of the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1992 (functions of the trust) there shall be substituted the following article–

Nature and functions of the Trust

(1) The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.

(2) The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be–

(a) to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act Bucknall Hospital, Eaves Lane, Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent ST2 8LD and associated hospitals and premises and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services and there and from there to provide and manage community health services;

(b) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act, and at Hilton Road site, Stoke-on-Trent, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services;

(c) to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act the premises specified in the Schedule to this Order and there and from there to provide and manage community health services.
