Section 1
These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

Section 2
In Part IV of Schedule 2 to the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) Regulations 1997 , in paragraph (10), for the words “involved in land defences and/or” there shall be substituted the words “engaged solely in harbour maintenance, dredging, building or maintenance of sea defences or”.
