Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Changes for England (Education) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998.

Section 2 Nottinghamshire County Council: functions in respect of specified schools

(1) The functions of the Council of the County of Nottinghamshire referred to in paragraph (2) below shall on and after 1st April 1998 be discharged by the Nottingham City Council.

(2) The functions referred to in paragraph (1) are functions of the Council of the County of Nottinghamshire in respect of the following schools—

Big Wood Comprehensive School

Burford Primary School

Warren Primary School

Wilford Meadows Comprehensive School

including any functions of the local education authority under the articles of government for any of these schools.

Section 3 Becket School, Nottingham

Becket School shall be treated for all purposes connected with education as if it were wholly within the area of the County of Nottinghamshire.
