These Regulations may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st May 1998.

The Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Regulations 1998
(1) The Misuse of Drugs Regulations 1985 shall be amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 1(a) of Schedule 1, there shall be inserted—
(a) after the word “Eticyclidine”, the word “Etryptamine”; and
(b) after the word “Mescaline”, the word “Methcathinone”.
(3) In paragraph 1 of Schedule 2, after the word “Trimeperidine”, there shall be inserted the word “Zipeprol”.
(4) In paragraph 1(a) of Schedule 3, after the word “Ethinamate”, there shall be inserted the word “Flunitrazepam”.
(5) In paragraph 1 of Part II of Schedule 4 , the word “Flunitrazepam” shall be deleted and there shall be inserted—
(a) after the word “Alprazolam”, the word “Aminorex”;
(b) after the word “Bromazepam”, the word “Brotizolam”; and
(c) after the word “Mefenorex” , the word “Mesocarb”.
